Pine Creek Glamping Co. | "Glamorous Camping" in The Laurel Highlands

Over the years, my husband Nolan and I have done a lot of “projects” together. From renovating a historic building in up-town Somerset, to creating businesses like Sundance & Co. and Dynamic Auction + Realty. BUT this one might just take the cake for the most fun and creatively rewarding of them all! This blog post is dedicated to our newest venture, Pine Creek Glamping Co.

From our airbnb listing:

Pine Creek Glamping Co. is a luxurious creekside escape quietly nestled on 5 wooded acres in the Laurel Highlands. With a cozy king bed, electricity, air conditioning + heat, a refrigerator, coffee maker, en suite outdoor full bathroom, and rocking chairs over overlooking the gently flowing water, it is the perfect mountain escape.

Enjoy the serenity of nature while remaining close to nearby attractions! We are conveniently located just 11 miles from the Somerset PA Turnpike Interchange. Glamping at Pine Creek is a luxury camping experience.

Over the course of two years, we turned a 5 acre chunk of land into serene destination for guests staying locally and traveling from afar. In the spring of 2021, I was about 6 months pregnant with our son, Harlan, trudging through mud driving a skid loader helping Nolan clear the path through the woods.

A year later, we decided to go for it, and bring a “glamping” destination to our town! One afternoon, Nolan sent me a confirmation email for a tent order and I said, “oh wow, we’re really doing this!” Throughout the spring and summer we (mostly Nolan) cleared paths through the pine trees, built a driveway, selected our tent site, built a deck, built a fence. We had to go through the steps to secure an address for the property, get electricity to the property, and have a mini split unit installed for heat and AC. Decorating the tent was easily my favorite part! While Nolan did all the hard work and manual labor, I spent those months scouring antique shops, thrift stores, boutiques, HomeGoods, and the internet for the best pieces that would make our tent feel like a hotel room in the woods.

When our listing went live on Airbnb, we had our first booking within an hour! In our first season we were able to achieve Airbnb Superhost status and welcome guests from across the country and just down the road. We stayed a few nights ourselves, hosted our families for campfires, and I hosted the book club I belong to a handful of times! The wonderful folks at GO Laurel Highlands reached out about featuring our tent in their 2023 destination guide which was such an amazing honor as well.

Seeing this project come to fruition has been a dream come true.

We are open for the season April 1 - October 15! We invite you to come stay with us at the creek!
